We are so proud to have participated in the Tucson Botanical Gardens' first "Growdown" competition between 4 landscape architects and designers.
Tucson Botanical Garden selected the 4 competitors out of many applicants who applied to compete. We had 8 weeks from beginning to end to design and source materials that would best reflect our individual ideal Tucson garden within a plot of dirt 15' wide by 20' deep.
Our vision was to create a garden that offered protected living and entertaining space as well as the garden as we believe outdoor living is a very important part of our Tucson Lifestyles - no matter what size or budget you may have.
After building some of our components prior to the event - we all started construction with only 3 days of 8 hour construction periods - all had to be completed within the stipulated 24 hour period. We ran out our clock at two minutes before the deadline!!! But, our hard work paid off. We could not have have succeeded without the help of all our talented, hard working artisans and community partners listed below:
David Rojo, Steel Fabrication Superior Steel Supply Grant Rd. Lumber
Jose Guerro, Landscape installation Caesar Rascon, Masonry & Plaster
Tyler Gold, Tile Installation Specialist John Fitzgerald, General Contractor
Nick Tranmer, Ceramic Artist Cantera Creations Pottery Blow Out
Kalav Upholstery and the many friends who supported our efforts
We are so grateful to all who helped organize the event at the Tucson Botanical Garden and to Marcus de Leon, Filmmaker extraordinaire who created a truly great film that captured the hard work and efforts of all...
